General Nguyen Tan Cuong inspects the regularity building at Regiment 165. |
Since the beginning of 2025, Regiment 165 has strictly carried out combat readiness regulations, conducted patrols and guard duties to ensure absolute safety, especially during national holidays, festivals, and major events. The unit has successfully completed its training programs for all target groups. In particular, all recruits have met training requirements, with nearly 82% rated good or excellent. The regiment has also organized training courses to enhance officers and soldiers' digital knowledge and skills, contributing effectively to the “Digital Literacy for All” movement within the unit.
The regiment has well implemented Party and political work, completing the political education programs for all groups. It has also taken pro-active measures in natural disaster prevention, epidemic control, and production.
After directly inspecting training activities, combat readiness, and unit building, and listening to reports from the unit’s leadership, General Cuong commended Regiment 165 for its outstanding achievements. He particularly praised the Party Committee and chain-of-command of the regiment for thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing higher-level resolutions, directives, and orders across all areas of work, thereby successfully fulfilling assigned tasks.
The quality of training, combat readiness, and the building of a comprehensively strong, exemplary, and typical unit have seen notable improvements. The leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committees and organizations have been enhanced; internal unity and stability have been maintained; and officers and soldiers have shown high determination in performing their duties.

Troops in a training session |
For the time ahead, General Cuong requested that Army Corps 12 in general, and Division 312 and Regiment 165 in particular, continue to thoroughly study and strictly implement resolutions, orders, directives, and guidance from higher levels on military and defense tasks.
He urged the units to complete operational documents, coordinate closely with local authorities in managing defense land, maintain strict combat readiness routines, and conduct training in a well-organized and systematic manner, focusing on mastering new weapons and equipment.
He also emphasized the need to promote the role of officers at all levels; strengthen officer training according to assigned responsibilities; and improve organization, management, and training methods. Units should organize more defense competitions after each training module, regularly conduct inspections and provide guidance, promptly identify and address shortcomings, and overcome difficulties to improve overall quality of unit building.
