The exercise was divided into three stages, namely shifting combat readiness to higher levels, preparing, and conducting combat operation.

According to Regiment 165’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Dinh Son, the exercise was to enhance troops’ capability of applying theories to reality as well as master their skills of shifting combat readiness to higher levels. The event also aimed to raise officers’ ability of giving advice related to operation, command capability, as well as the coordination among agencies in dealing with circumstances.

During the exercise, Regiment 165’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command thoroughly embraced and strictly carried out Army Corps 1’s directives on exercise and plans. The unit pro-actively contacted with local Party committees and authorities, well conducted mass mobilization work, closely followed political situation, and maintained security for the exercise to take place as scheduled. 

In addition, participating forces demonstrated their high sense of responsibility and strictly followed steps in the exercise.

After two days, the exercise ended successfully, meeting all set requirements and targets. The event contributed to enhancing agencies and units’ capability and their coordination in shifting combat readiness postures, preparing, and conducting an operation.

Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Division 312 Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Tan evaluated that the command exercise with table-top and field components of Regiment 165 concluded successfully while ensuring absolute safety.

He asked the regiment to learn from experience and address shortcomings in conducting the exercise, raise troops’ capability of flexibly and creatively applying theories to training and combat readiness missions, contributing to fulfilling assigned tasks, building comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding unit to meet requirements in the new period, and enriching the tradition of the regiment which was honored with the title of Hero of People’s Armed Forces twice.
