Army Corps 34 conducts close-to-reality exercise
PANO - On October 5 afternoon, Army Corps 34 opened an exercise for its subordinate units, namely Division 320, four brigades, and Signal Regiment 29.
Major General Tran Cong Duc, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Army Corps 34, attended and directed the event.
This exercise features a one-side two-level command exercise with field contents for Division 320, with one mechanized infantry battalion participating in an integrated live-fire drill. Meanwhile, one-side one-level command field exercises are being conducted for Tank Brigade 273, Artillery Brigade 40, Air Defense Artillery Brigade 234, Engineering Brigade 7, and Signal Regiment 29.

Participating units practiced shifting to higher combat readiness status; marching and encamping to receive combat missions; making combat preparations; and executing combat operations.
In his directive speech, Gen. Duc, who is also head of the Exercise Steering Committee, praised involved agencies and units for their active and thorough preparations for the exercise.
He urged party committees and commanding officers at all levels to strengthen political and ideological education, build high determination, endurance, and the will to overcome hardships among troops to ensure the completion of all assigned tasks.

He emphasized the need to grasp the exercise’s contents, creatively apply theory to practice, and ensure that the drill closely reflects real combat conditions. He also asked for absolute safety of personnel, weapons, equipment, and documents and lesson-drawing to further improve training quality and combat readiness.
The exercise runs until October 10.
