General Nguyen Tan Cuong inspects training contents at the training ground.

After conducting a field inspection and hearing reports, General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the regiment for grasping higher-level resolutions and directives and excellently fulfilling numerous tasks. The unit has made positive progress in training, combat readiness, and building an “exemplary and outstanding” comprehensively strong unit. Meanwhile, the leadership capacity of the Party organization has been enhanced, solidarity has been maintained, and officers and soldiers have consistently upheld their determination to perform assigned duties.

Regarding the shortcomings pointed out by the Ministry of National Defense’s functional agencies, the chief of the General Staff directed Army Corps 12 and Division 308 to continue guiding the unit to overcome its weaknesses and successfully complete its political tasks. Party committees and commanders at all levels were urged to effectively implement directives on military and defense tasks, especially directives of Party General Secretary, State President, and Secretary of the Central Military Commission To Lam on the “two consistencies, two accelerations, two preventions,” and “five strengths” motto, closely adapting to reality.

He also directed the unit to strictly ensure combat readiness, be ready in any circumstances, finalize combat documents, and closely coordinate with localities to manage defense land. In training, the regiment must strictly adhere to plans, increase competitions and exercises, focus on mastering new weapons and equipment, and ensure absolute safety during the “three explosions” test (live-fire shooting, grenade throwing, and explosive placement exercises) for recruits. In addition, the unit must pro-actively adjust training schedules in hot weather conditions to protect troops’ health.

Finally, the general instructed the unit to strictly maintain discipline and effectively conduct tradition and law education to uphold the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and the traditions of the regiment. The unit must closely manage the troops’ thought, create a friendly atmosphere, properly implement grassroots-level democracy, internal political protection, mass mobilization, and policies for troops and their rear. It must also ensure logistics, technical, and financial support for all missions, and strictly manage approved projects to ensure quality and progress while practicing thrift and preventing wastefulness.
