Conference approves plan and opening ceremony scenario for Vietnam Defense Expo 2026
PANO – On April 16 in Hanoi, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Defense Expo 2026, chaired a conference to approve the plan and opening ceremony scenario for the event.
Attendees included members of the organizing committee and leaders of several functional agencies under the Ministry of National Defense.

At the conference, the General Department of Defense Industry presented the plan and opening ceremony scenario for the Vietnam Defense Expo 2026. Delegates proposed measures to accelerate preparations for the event.
The opening ceremony will feature a large-scale artistic performance with 1,800 artists, including an air force flypast, military band performances, martial arts by the Commando Corps, and a display by the Border Guard Command’s Service Dog Unit.
Concluding the meeting, Sr. Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan emphasized that the expo remains a key task for defense diplomacy and international cooperation. He directed the organizing committee and relevant agencies to uphold responsibility, follow approved plans, and ensure thorough preparation.
General Tan tasked the General Department of Defense Industry to finalize the exhibition layout and organize a promotion conference to mobilize resources from both military and civilian enterprises. He also instructed the Reception Subcommittee to train personnel from various military regions and schools, while the Communications Subcommittee must intensify promotion across media platforms.
Meanwhile, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Commando Corps, and the Military Ceremony Unit will arrange interactive activities for visitors. General Tan stressed that protocol must ensure solemnity, absolute security, and adequate logistics. The organizing committee will meet monthly until the event concludes to address arising issues, aiming for an impressive expo that strengthens international cooperation and national defense.
