GDP Chief holds conference to review task performance in April
PANO - Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet chaired a conference on May 5 in Hanoi to review the implementation of the Party and political work in April and roll out key tasks for May.

In April, the Party and political work in the whole military was implemented in a synchronous and strict manner, closely following the military and defense tasks. The GDP pro-actively carried out information dissemination to orient thoughts and public opinions on new issues; conducted various activities and programs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day; directed Party organizations to make good preparations and successfully organize Party congresses; and completed documents for the 12th Military Party Congress. Meanwhile, the mass mobilization, policies, social insurance, the activities of mass organizations, were implemented effectively. The political and ideological situation in the whole military was maintained, among others.
In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet applauded achievements obtained by agencies and units in April, requiring that in the time to come, they should enhance political and ideological education to raise troops’ awareness of military discipline and law observance; accelerate the development of digital infrastructure and platforms to support the goals of digital transformation; and organize refresher courses to improve IT application skills for all categories of troops.
The GDP chief also emphasized the importance of reviewing the organization of the celebration activities marking the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day; the preparation for the 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day (September 2) and the conference to review the 10-year-implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.05-CT/TW on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle in the Military Party Organization and the whole military.

On the occasion, Gen. Quyet handed over certificates of merit of the Ministry of National Defense to collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in policy work, gratitude activities during the lunar New Year 2025 and in the building of the militia and self-defense forces.
