As scheduled, the exchange will take place in Hanoi from December 19 to 22 with the theme, "Music Connecting Friendship." It is held as part of the activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day.
The event gathers hundreds of instrumentalists from ceremonial bands of the Vietnam People’s Army and Public Security and those from Laos, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

Over the past time, the Department of Military Training under the General Staff has actively coordinated with relevant units and agencies to make thorough preparations for the event, including building detailed programs and scripts for the opening and closing ceremonies and conducting training sessions for the participating forces.
The rehearsal featured the flag-raising ceremony, artistic performances, joint music programs, individual performances on stage, and performances in street parade by the military bands.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Cuong commended units, agencies, and especially the instrumentalists for their efforts.
The Chief of the General Staff stressed that performances at the upcoming events must be well prepared to leave a strong impression on and showcase the unique and outstanding cultural heritage of Vietnam, its people, and military to the international audience.

He requested units and agencies to ensure comprehensive logistics support, especially for international military bands, and to promote dissemination. Safety must be prioritized throughout the exchange and its associated activities.
