Defense leader calls for pro-active research, design and development of new weapons

Over the past years, Factory Z173 and Factory X28 have pro-actively introduced many technical innovations and improvements to support technical maintenance and support operations, while effectively implementing key science and technology tasks assigned by the Ministry of National Defense. Both factories have also focused on infrastructure investment and upgrading production capabilities while maintaining absolute safety in their operations.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam commended the General Department of Defense Industry, particularly Factory Z173, for its research, design and manufacture of naval guns, as well as its efforts to secure material supplies and expand cooperation. The defense leader stressed that relevant agencies and units should continue close coordination in inspecting and accepting individual components and assemblies to ensure progress and promptly resolve emerging technical and technological issues.

At Factory X28, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam acknowledged the factory’s efforts and achievements in research projects, mastering repair technologies, designing underwater weapons and integrating associated production lines and equipment systems.

In the coming period, he called on the Naval Service and Factory X28 to further strengthen self-reliance in researching, designing and manufacturing new, high-tech weapons and technical equipment, particularly underwater weapons, to better meet the military’s combat readiness requirements.
