Following the inspection, the defense leader chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee for the Viet Nam Defense Expo 2026, during which the General Department of Defense Industry, the standing body of the Organizing Committee, along with subcommittees and relevant agencies and units, reported on preparations, implementation progress, difficulties and obstacles, recommendations, and plans for the coming period.
In his concluding remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang praised the Organizing Committee, subcommittees, and relevant agencies and units for their efforts and sense of responsibility in preparing for the event. With the opening day approaching, he called on all involved to review their assigned tasks and previous directives, intensify their efforts, and maintain close coordination to ensure thorough preparations. He stressed the need to promptly report difficulties, obstacles, and issues beyond their authority to ensure the expo is held in a modern, effective, united, and safe manner.
He also called for the implementation of the latest direction from General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, on organizing a fireworks display to celebrate the expo. He approved the establishment of a "war correspondent" exhibition and experience area at the event.

Drawing on experience from the previous two editions, along with the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, and determination, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang expressed confidence that the Viet Nam Defense Expo 2026 will be a resounding success, meeting the expectations of Party and State leaders, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the public, while leaving a positive impression on international visitors.
The 2026 event will be the third edition of the Viet Nam Defense Expo organized by the Ministry of National Defense. It will take place over four days, from December 10 to 13, at Gia Lam Airport.
