Final rehearsal for AARM-24 opening ceremony held

PANO - The organizing committee of the 24^th ASEAN Armies Riffle Meet (AARM-24) on November 18^th launched the final rehearsal for the opening ceremony on November 19^th. Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Head of the Organizing Committee chaired the rehearsal.

The opening ceremony, themed “convergence, competition, mutual understanding and victory”, consists of the reception for the deputy chiefs of army, the introduction of the 10 shooting contingents, the AARM flag-raising ceremony, the opening speech, and the token presentation. The ceremony also includes art performances with the participation of hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Army.

After the rehearsal, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, urged all participating forces to try their best to hold a solemn opening ceremony for the 24^th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet.

Since November 10^th, ten shooting contingents have gathered and practiced at the Mieu Mon National Training Centre of Vietnam, ready for the competitions in the coming days.

The event is the fine tradition in the relations among ASEAN armies. It is also an opportunity for the armies to exchange, integrate, enhance friendship, and learn from each other.
