Deputy defense minister visits Depot 858
PANO - A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by its Deputy Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh, visited Depot 858 of the Department of Technical Services of the Naval Service on February 23.
The delegation was joined by Lt. Gen. Tran Minh Duc, Chief of the General Department of Technical Services, Maj. Gen. Duong Xuan Nam, Chief of the Department of Vehicles and Machinery under the General Department of Technical Services, and Rear Admiral Phan Tuan Hung, Deputy Commander of the Naval Service, among others.

At the working session, Director of Depot 858 Senior Colonel Le Hung Minh, held that on carrying out the task of providing ammunition for military units in the Central Southern Coast region, the unit has always received the care of all-level leaderships. Its troops have firm political stance while warehouses and workshops have been built durably with absolute safety and qualified to store weapons and technical equipment for a long time.
The depot has seriously implemented higher levels’ instructions and resolutions on military-defense missions with comprehensive measures, contributing to fulfilling all set targets. The unit also took care of troops’ spiritual and material life, ensured safety and achieve the “comprehensive strong unit” title in 2021.

Speaking at the working session, General Vinh applauded efforts of the depot in completing its assigned missions over the past time. He urged them to continue to build comprehensive strong unit and firm Party organizations while collaborating with the local authorities to ensure security and order in the area.
In addition, the deputy defense minister required the depot to regularly evaluate the status of the weapon and equipment maintenance, receive and deliver ammunitions as planned with absolute safety, and set concrete plans for patrol and fire and explosion prevention. He noted that the unit should organize regular exercises, contributing to improving their task performance.
