Briefed on the preparation for Tet and combat readiness plans of the Ho Chi Minh City Military Command, Gen. Don praised the unit’s results and outstanding achievements in many aspects last year and the careful preparation for the upcoming Tet. The Deputy Defense Minister also appreciated the unit for well organizing gratitude activities, especially in visiting, presenting gifts to policy families, national contributors, and needy troops of units in remote areas.

“Based in a major economic, political, and cultural center of the country, Ho Chi Minh city’s armed forces always face big challenges in ensuring political stability and social order and security. Therefore, the HCM City Military Command should be proactive in strengthening combat readiness and maintaining security and social order and safety,” he stressed.

While visiting the HCM City Border Guard Command, the Deputy Defense Minister asked the unit to continue strengthening the military-civilian ties through gratitude activities and mass mobilization to help them enjoy a cozy Tet.

The unit should also pay attention to improve troops’ material and spiritual life during this Tet and focus on ensuring security and order in border areas and combating smuggling and trade fraud, he added.
