Reports revealed that in the first quarter of this year, the provincial military command made recommendation to the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee to lead and direct the comprehensive and effective implementation of military and defense missions and pandemic prevention and control work. The province’s armed forces also gave advice to the province and its localities to make thorough preparation for defensive area exercises, carry out enlistment work, and build the standing maritime militia flotilla as regulated.
Since its establishment, the standing maritime militia flotilla has actively disseminate and mobilize local people to strictly observe the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies on defense and military missions and fishing at sea. Local militiamen have actively participated in local socio-economic development activities.
Units strictly observed combat readiness, comprehensively and effectively carried out Party and political work, and ensured logistics and technical services for other missions.

On inspecting the units and being briefed on their task performance, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien praised the units for their effective task implementation over the past time. Regarding missions in the coming time, the deputy chief of the General Staff asked the units to strictly maintain combat readiness, ensure security during holidays and at important events of the country, cooperate with other forces to closely follow local situations, protect local political security and public order, and hold training for objectives as regulated.
In terms of Party and political work, units should strictly carry out the principle of democratic centralism and pay attention to implementing mass mobilization work and policies for the standing maritime militia force, General Tien added.
On the occasion, Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien and Military Region 5’s Commander presented gifts to the standing maritime militia flotilla of the provincial military command.
