Campus 2 of the school is located in Vi Tan ward, Can Tho city. Under the enrollment plan, the Southern Junior Cadet School targets children from ethnic minority communities, policy beneficiary families, families with revolutionary contribution, and those facing particularly difficult circumstances in Military Regions 7 and 9. The boarding model, together with structured learning and daily routines characteristic of the military environment, is expected to provide favorable conditions for students to study, train, and grow up. This is also the guiding spirit of the junior cadet school system established by the Ministry of National Defense in 2026.

Campus 2 of the Southern Junior Cadet School is located at the former headquarters of the Hau Giang provincial Military Command, now in Vi Tan ward, Can Tho city.

As a specialized institution within the military and national education system, the school provides students with cultural knowledge while focusing on education in ideals, patriotism, organizational discipline, morality, physical health, and life skills. To ensure that the first academic year at Campus 2 begins as scheduled, agencies and units of Military Region 9 and relevant forces have been urgently completing preparations for facilities, barracks, teaching equipment, and personnel.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ba Thien, Barracks Officer of the Logistics-Technical Department of Military Region 9, said technical forces were coordinating with construction units to accelerate barrack repairs, striving to complete the work before the students' arrival. At the same time, they also worked with the Can Tho municipal Military Command to receive equipment and supplies from former Defensive Area Command Region 2-Vi Tan and hand over to Campus 2. Desks, beds, and cabinets for officers and soldiers, as well as students' furniture and daily necessities, were scheduled to be fully arranged by October 4.

At the construction site, work is proceeding at a rapid pace. Nguyen Tan Dat from Thien Thanh Co., Ltd., said the company regarded the Campus 2 project as an important project requiring high standards in schedule, aesthetics, quality, and occupational safety. It had therefore mobilized resources, skilled workers, equipment, and additional shifts to accelerate construction and ensure timely completion of each item.

Meanwhile, the teachers are also ready to welcome the school's first students. Lieutenant Colonel Quach Minh Duy, Head of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Campus 2, said the faculty has already completed its educational plans, professional assessment plans, and teaching assignments. Teachers had pro-actively prepared lesson plans, teaching materials, and teaching methods, aiming to combine knowledge acquisition with the development of students' confidence, responsibility, and practical skills.

For parents, the students' arrival at Campus 2 marks an important new stage. Neang Sa Ly, from An Cu commune, An Giang province, whose child was admitted to the tenth grade, expressed her happiness and pride at her child's admission to the school's inaugural course. She said she emotionally prepared and encouraged her child to study and train hard in the new environment and carry forward the family's traditions. She was particularly reassured that her child would study at Campus 2, as its location closer to home would make it easier for the family to visit, encourage, and support the child.

On Campus 2, the final preparations are being completed to establish a stable routine for the new school. For the 160 sixth- and tenth-graders, October 6 will be a memorable milestone as they officially enter the junior cadet environment and gradually become familiar with collective living, disciplined routines, and lessons in knowledge, tradition, and responsibility.
