In the morning, the mission visited the Hall of Fame of the Army Academy, during which the defense minister showed his admiration of the arrangement of photos and display items. He also praised the school for the efforts in keeping various valuable documents on its establishment and development over the past 75 years.

While inspecting the academy’s barracks, lecture halls, library, and Convalescence 198, General Phan Van Giang expressed delight at the academy’s development with a system of spacious and clean facilities built. He also attended classes, spent time checking learners’ abilities and thinking, and gave comments on combat documents.
Under the direction of the defense minister, the visiting delegation was also divided into groups to carefully check the academy’s implementation of education and training and regularity building tasks.
At the meeting with the Army Academy’s representatives later the same day, the mission was briefed on the academy’s outcomes in task implementation in 2021 and in the first months of this year. According to the academy’s Director Major General Do Minh Xuong, the unit has seriously embraced and carried out the Defense Ministry’s guidelines on raising the quality of training.
The academy’s Party Committee and Board of Directors have issued various guidelines and measures to augment the quality of education and training and scientific research and paid attention to building a contingent of competent and prestigious instructors and education management officials.
In addition, the unit has strictly carried out Party and political work, and military affairs while focusing on ensuring logistic and technical services, and finance for missions; building green-clean-beautiful barracks; raising the material and spiritual life of instructors, learners, and troops.
At the working session, the defense minister updated the academy’s personnel and learners on recent regional and international situations and outstanding defense external relations activities in 2021 and the first months of this year. He asked the unit’s instructors and learners to closely follow the quick, complicated, and unexpected developments of political and security situations in the world and write more documents on infantry tactics to serve training activities.

Regarding training program, General Giang requested the Army Academy to embrace and actualize resolutions, conclusions, directives, and guidance; prepare for the implementation of a project on renewing training process and program which will be approved by an assessment council of the General Staff in the coming time; foster foreign language and informatics training for learners.
Emphasizing the important role of instructors to training process, the defense minister also reminded the academy of raising professional competence of instructors.
Praising the Army Academy’s outcomes over the past time, General Giang expected that the unit’s personnel and students will exert more efforts to continue raising its position and role among military schools in particular and schools in the country in general.
He strongly believed that the school will successfully fulfill its mission of training future commanding officers with firm political stance, rich knowledge, and competence to meet the requirement of military building, defense consolidation, and national defense in the new period.
