General Ngo Xuan Lich visiting the K9 relic site |
At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Van Cuong, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum’s Guard Command and Head of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board, briefed General Lich and the delegation on the unit’s task performance last year and missions in 2018.
Over the past time, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum’s Guard Command has well preserved the body of the late President while organizing forces to maintain security to better serve the increasing number of foreign and domestic visitors to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Defense Ministry, General Lich highly valued efforts of troops and employees of the command and the board in implementing all assigned tasks, adding that they should continue preserving completely the body of President Ho Chi Minh and actively studying and applying advanced techniques in this work, raising troops’ political stance, and improving the landscape, environment and service quality to better serve visitors.
Particularly for those who are in charge of the K9 relic site, the Defense Minister asked them to do their utmost to popularize the site so that more visitors could learn more about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.
On the occasion, General Lich also planted trees and visited several facilities at the K9 relic site.
The K9 relic site is a venue where President Ho Chi Minh, the Politburo, and the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee decided the country’s crucial issues during the national resistance war against American invaders. It was also chosen to preserve the body of the late President from 1969 to 1975.
