In a respectful atmosphere, Gen. Giang and the mission expressed deep gratitude to the late leaders for their great contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation, and the Vietnam People’s Army building. They contributed to the great feats-of-arms which are the national pride and examples for today and younger generations to study and follow.
The defense chief inquired after the late leaders’ family members. He wished them good health and hoped that they would continue promoting the family tradition, making contribution to the national development and the military’s strength and growth.
In the morning the same day, Gen. Giang visited Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, former Vice Secretary of the CMC and former Minister of National Defense and Lt. Gen. Dang Quan Thuy, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Hero of the people’s armed forces.

During the visits, Gen. Giang reported to the two leaders on outstanding outcomes of the whole military in military and defense task performance over the past time and vital tasks that the CMC and Ministry of National Defense are carrying out, particularly the guideline on building an elite, compact, and strong military and the military restructuring. He also reported on prominent activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day.
He wished the two leaders good health, continued contribution to military building.

Also on April 23, Gen. Giang visited the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, during which he expressed thanks to the association and its chapters for their close coordination and support for military agencies and units and their suggestions on military building, defense consolidation and Fatherland protection.
