Speaking at the conference, the defense minister acknowledged and praised achievements obtained by Army Corps 1 in 2021. He emphasized that the appointment of Major General Do Minh Xuong and Senior Colonel Truong Manh Dung to new posts demonstrated the Central Military Commission’s and the Defense Ministry’s trust and acknowledgement of their efforts.

As President of the Army Academy, Major General Do Minh Xuong should apply his acquired experience to carrying out missions at the unit with a focus on raising the quality of education and training. For Senior Colonel Truong Manh Dung, he should work with the army corps’ Party Committee and Chain-of-Command to bring into play obtained results, raise the quality of training and combat readiness, build a strong Party organization, and comprehensively fulfill missions.

Welcoming the mission, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that in 2021 despite difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the province has completed 14 out of 17 targets set for the year. The locality’s socio-economy has comprehensively developed while defense and security has been strengthened and social welfare policies have been implemented thoroughly. Ninh Binh is one of the localities with the highest number of vaccinated citizens.

In the year, military units in the province, especially the provincial Military Command and Border Guard Command have actively participated in natural disaster response and COVID-19 prevention and control and effectively carried out local defense and military affairs. Troops in the locality have been helpers and supporters to local Party Committee, authorities and people.
Congratulating the positive results gained by the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people in 2021, General Phan Van Giang stressed that Ninh Binh is one of the localities effectively carrying out military and defense tasks, combining economic development and defense consolidation.
The defense minister hoped that the provincial Party Committee will continue paying attention to building strong armed forces and cooperating with military units to fulfill assign missions.

At the working session, General Giang acknowledged and praised the efforts and results gained by the units in 2021, especially in training and combat readiness, natural disaster response, search and rescue operations, and pandemic prevention and control. These achievements have contributed to raising the combat power of the military and enriching the traditions of the locality.
He asked the units to closely follow the situational developments and try their best to accomplish set targets. In the short term, the units should cooperate with other agencies, units, and localities to ensure public security, make preparation for the call-up drive in 2022, strictly maintain combat readiness and guard duties, and raise troops’ living standards.
