During the meeting, the Department of Political Education and Information reported on its work and proposed key tasks for the remainder of 2026 and the 2027-2030 period. Delegates discussed their respective responsibilities, outstanding challenges, and proposed solutions.
General Nguyen Trong Nghia agreed with the report and proposed priorities, directing the GDP's Office to coordinate with the department to consolidate feedback and finalize the meeting’s conclusions. He called for an overall plan for political education and information work, including key activities in journalism, communications, culture, literature, and the arts, to support major events in 2026 and beyond. The plan must be clear, practical, and easy to implement and monitor, with responsibilities assigned according to the “six clear's” principle: clear tasks, personnel, timelines, responsibilities, authority, and deliverables.

He called for stronger communications to promote military programs and activities through multiple channels. The Department of Political Education and Information should coordinate coverage of major joint activities, while each agency and unit should promote its own activities and products. Military press and media outlets should work closely with press agencies and information and education agencies at all levels to deliver regular, in-depth, and focused coverage.
In culture, literature, and the arts, General Nguyen Trong Nghia urged agencies and units to highlight the military’s distinctive values and explore themes including national defense, armed forces development, all-people national defense, the “people’s heart posture,” and international integration. He also encouraged creative works inspired by Vietnamese forces participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations and Viet Nam’s friendship with international partners.
He stressed the need to strengthen the responsibility of relevant agencies and chains-of-command at all levels for understanding and addressing the concerns of officers, trainees, and soldiers, particularly those facing difficulties in life, family and personal relationship, or financial matters. Political education must address practical issues and provide timely guidance and follow-up.
The GDP Chairman also directed agencies to translate into concrete actions the relevant guidance delivered by General Secretary and State President and Secretary of the Central Military Commission To Lam at the commission’s third conference for the 2025-2030 term. He called for effective education and communications, combining the promotion of positive values with efforts to counter negative influences.
Regarding military press agencies, General Nguyen Trong Nghia called for innovation in thinking, operations, and communications, while strengthening their role as key outlets in the national press system and as leading voices within the military. He stressed that press leadership, direction, and management must be rigorous and meet mission requirements.
He also called for focused coverage of the recently held fourth meeting of the 14th Party Central Committee and the upcoming second session of the 16th National Assembly. Preparations should be made for Viet Nam Culture Day in conjunction with the Great National Unity Festival and activities marking the 80th anniversary of the nationwide resistance against French colonial forces. These activities should reflect the nature of each event, draw on diverse cultural, literary, and artistic fields, and promote exchanges with military and civilian units and international art troupes.
