At the event, Commanding General of Corps 15 Major General Hoang Van Sy recalled the historical journey of the unit’s development. Accordingly, on February 20, 1985, Corps 15 was founded and tasked with developing economy and consolidating and reinforcing defense, security, stabilizing local social affairs, building the whole people’s defense disposition in strategic Central Highlands.

Over the past four decades, the unit has actively done farming, built six rubber processing factories with a capacity of over 40,000 tons per year, one bio-fertilizer factory with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year and one rubber wood processing workshop with a capacity of 20,000 sq.m per year.

Attentively, over the past decade, the corps has achieved VND 20,624 billion in production value, VND 18,484 billion in revenue, and VND 646 billion in pre-tax profit. It has created regular jobs for nearly 15,000 workers, of which more than 60% are from ethnic groups, and side jobs for tens of thousands of people while ensuring wages and policies for its workers.
With its outstanding attainments, Corps 15 has been honored with various noble awards by the Party and State, including the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces. This year, the Corps has been honorably awarded with the First-class Fatherland Protection Order.

Applauding the unit for its achievements obtained in the past 40 years, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San asked it to continue to embrace higher levels’ resolutions and directives, promote political and ideological education, maintain internal solidarity, build a healthy business cultural environment, and a strong, healthy Party organization.
The corps was also urged to continue to improve its prestige and brand at home and abroad and join hands with other military enterprises to spread the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the front of economy. The unit should raise quality of unit building, team up with local party committee, authorities, and armed forces to build strong political establishments, uphold local political security, social order and safety, and firmly safeguard national borders.
