Commandos’ professional competence applauded
PANO – Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang inspected a real-force drill in commando tactics and skills conducted by the Commando Corps in a firing range in Ninh Thuan province on June 20.
The Deputy Defense Minister was accompanied by high-ranking military officers, including Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong.
The training contents included various difficult shooting techniques performed by officers and soldiers of the Commando Corps.
After the drill, General Giang hailed units of the Commando Corps, highlighting their successes in overpowering terrorists and rescuing hostages in various complex and difficult assumed scenarios.

He also praised commando combatants for their resourcefulness, bravery, agility, smartness and exactness in every move during the drill.
General Giang underscored that commando units finely combined traditional military art and contemporary military techniques in both offensive and defensive operations during the exercise, which showed a new development of the commando force.
Particularly, the Deputy Defense Minister lauded the performances of female commando combatants who had overcome all difficulties and hardships of the drill as well as the harsh weather, and excellently completed their assignments in the drill.
Regarding future directions for the commando force, General Giang asked the Commando Corps to continue to maintain military order, training regulations while quickly mastering modern weapons and equipment, meeting all requirements of its tasks, training and combat readiness in the current context.
