PANO - The Party Committee and High Command of Commando Corps on March 19 held a ceremony to celebrate its 40th traditional anniversary and receive the Gold Star Medal, a noble award presented by the Party and State. Senior lieutenant-general Le Van Dung, secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, member of the Central Military Party Committee and Head of Political General Department, attended the event.

During the past 40 years, the Commando Corps has made great efforts to overcome obstacles and difficulties, enhancing its combative strength and readiness, training effectiveness and other works, contributing its part to building a pure and powerful Party Committee and fulfilling assigned tasks.

At the event, senior lieutenant-general Le Van Dung highly applauded achievements made by the Corps’s officers and soldiers. He also stressed that the Commando Corps must continue to equip its cadres, soldiers and defence workers with firm political cognition, a high spirit of combat, incessantly improve training quality and ability of combat readiness.

Moreover, the Corps should also thoroughly grasp and faithfully put into effect the campaign, “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”.
