The event was co-chaired by Phan Dinh Trac, head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs and General Phan Van Giang, CMC Deputy Secretary and Defense Minister. The conference saw the attendance of General Luong Cuong, permanent member of the CMC and Director of the General Department of Political Affairs; Vo Van Dung, permanent deputy head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs; Tran Quoc Cuong, deputy head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs; and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, permanent member of the CMC, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister.
Over the past five years, the two sides have actively and proactively worked together to give timely recommendations on and review the Party’s resolutions, directives, conclusions, and regulations as well as develop major projects related to internal affairs and anti-corruption.
They have also followed closely and precisely assessed situations on military-defense affairs, political security, social order and safety to advice the Party and State to devise policies and solutions in a timely manner, importantly contributing to developing the Party’s military-defense-related policies in the globalization, integration, and development process, so as to early defend the Fatherland from afar.
Apart from proposals for internal affairs implementation and corruption prevention and control, the two sides have given suggestions to the Politburo, and PCC’s Secretariat to handle serious and complicated military-defense-related cases and prepared reports on military-defense affairs to be presented at regular meetings of the higher levels.
In the coming time, the CMC will strengthen collaboration with the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs.
Specifically, they will focus their coordination on making strategic forecasts, giving recommendations to the Party and State to issue policies and make laws on military, defense, fight against corruption and negative phenomena, judicial reform and build an elite, compact, strong military to meet the Fatherland safeguarding requirements in the new situation.
They will develop and effectively carry out projects on military and defense to build a firm all people’s defense disposition coupled with the people’s security posture in the country and well perform international integration and defense diplomacy, to name but a few.
In his speech, Mr. Phan Dinh Trac highlighted the close and effective coordination between the two agencies, practically realizing political duties of each side.
He asked the two sides to concretize their coordination with action plans, enhance Party and political system building and rectification, jointly give advice on dealing with corruption and negative phenomena and arising issues related to defense and security, especially security in border areas, in places where ethnic minorities live, religious security, cyber security, hostile forces’ and reactionaries’ acts of sabotage, long and complicated complaints, among others.

On the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944-2021), the head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs presented a flower basket to leaders of the CMC and Ministry of National Defense, the insignia “For the cause of the Party’s internal affairs” to Generals Phan Van Giang, Luong Cuong and other deputy defense ministers and leaders of the General Staff.
Three collectives and five individuals with outstanding performance of internal affairs and fight against corruption and negative phenomena received certificates of merit presented by the head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs.
