The border guard youths make up a large and vital force, contributing to the strong defense of territorial sovereignty and national border security. They also take the lead in community programs such as “Border spring warms people’s hearts,” “Supporting children to go to school - Adopted children of border posts,” “Youth Month,” and more.

During the "Spring in border areas and on islands, Tet (lunar New Year) of  warm military-civilian relations” program, border guard units distributed 16,500 gifts worth over VND 8.65 billion to underprivileged families. Additionally, they provided 1,379 scholarships totaling VND 857 million under the "Supporting children to go to school - Adopted children of border posts” program.

The border guard youths have also dedicated thousands of workdays and significant resources to improve border communities by replacing substandard housing, building infrastructure, and bolstering livelihoods. They have actively engaged in environmental campaigns, like "Let's clean the sea," in which they have collaborated with local youth and residents to remove over 18 tons of waste from 2,900km of coastline across 28 coastal provinces and cities.

Every week, border guard officers and youth volunteers provide free haircuts for local people and students. Many units have successfully implemented innovative models, such as "Light up border areas" (installing solar lights in remote areas), "One question, one answer per week" (promoting legal awareness), "One red address per week" (educating youth on historical site), or "Green house" (raising funds through recycling efforts).

These efforts have left a lasting impact on communities, contributing to economic development, poverty reduction, healthcare, and building  stronger, more prosperous border  areas.

The border guard force’s political organs and Youth Union chapters at all levels work closely with local organizations to implement volunteer activities, especially under the "Border guard youths join hands to build new-style rural area” movement.

Through this program, the border guard youths have mobilized thousands of working days to build houses, water wells, cultural centers, and repair damaged houses; provided health checkups and distributed free medicine to 8,185 people, valued at VND 1.2 billion; distributed 4,320 gifts to policy beneficiary families, totaling VND 2.338 billion.

The border guard youths were actively engaged in the 2024 “March in border areas” campaign and the “Youths coming to border markers” program, allocating VND 8.1 billion to livelihood support, assistance for disadvantaged families and victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, underprivileged students, and medical supplies for border communities.

These meaningful activities have strengthened the whole-people border guard posture, improved the quality of life for ethnic communities in border areas, and further contribute to national border security and sovereignty protection.
