PANO - A delegation of former high-ranking officers of Army Corps 2, headed by Lt. Gen. Pham Xuan The, former Commander of the corps, visited Military Zone 7 on April 5th following the tour back to the former battlefields. Joining the delegation were Lt. Gen. Nguyen Phuc Thanh, the corps' former Commander and other generals and veterans of the corps through different periods.

Established on April 17th 1974 in Thua Thien Hue province, the corps engaged in campaigns to liberate Hue and Da Nang cities during the General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1975. In the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, it achieved many glorious victories, contributing to the liberation of the South and reunion the country.
At the reception given to the veterans, Lt. Gen. Tran Don, the zone's Commander affirmed that the younger generations would always remember the great sacrifice of heroic martyrs in the defence the nation and the building of the army in general and the zone in particular by fulfilling all the assigned missions. The general also believed that the veterans would continue supporting and encouraging troops to strengthen the army.
On behalf of the delegation, Lt. Gen. The thanked the zone's commanders for their reception and recalled the corps' glorious tradition.
