During the patrol, the Vietnamese and Chinese naval forces patrolled eight locations on a 300-nautical-mile voyage in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Within the framework of the patrol, they conducted a search and rescue drill at sea. Simulating a preplanned scenario, the two sides' rescue forces approached and saved troubled fishing boats.
Despite bad weather and strong waves, the joint patrol ended successfully and safely.
The organization of joint patrols aims to maintain order and security in the shared maritime area in the Gulf of Tonkin and implement the Vietnam-China fishery cooperation agreement.
