Accordingly, Vietnamese and Chinese coast guard forces will patrol nine agreed-upon locations in the joint fishing grounds from April 21 to 23.
During the first joint fishery patrol of this year they will check Vietnamese and Chinese fishing boats operating in the shared fishing grounds in the Gulf of Tonkin and disseminate regulations and laws to fishermen fishing in those areas.
This is the 19th joint fishery patrol in the Gulf of Tonkin conducted by the two countries’ coast guard forces on the basis of the agreement on fishery cooperation in the Gulf of Tonkin signed by the two governments in 2000.
