According to the rotational regulations, this patrol was organized by Honghe Border Management Section and the Jinshuihe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station. Both sides implemented the overall plan on joint patrol and law enforcement inspection and agreed to establish a joint command. Each side set up three patrol teams and two groups with four liaison officers to conduct patrols from Border Markers No.29 to No.71.

The patrols were conducted on foot combined with vehicles, following the method of border-to-border, point-to-point, and line-to-line, divided into two phases with the total patrol time of seven hours. During the patrol, both sides carried out law dissemination and distributed 300 leaflets to local people in border areas.
After the patrols, the two sides evaluated the operation and agreed to continue coordinating to finalize collaboration mechanism in the region; exchange information via letters and hotlines; and effectively deal with arising issues in the fight against crime and border management.

They will enhance patrols in border areas to promptly detect and prevent criminal activities, while strengthening information dissemination among border people about the laws and the policies on border management to raise their awareness of law enforcement and the fight against illegal exit and entry, to name but a few.
* On the same day, Vietnam’s Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command, Honghe Border Management Section and the Hekou Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, Yunan province (China) conducted a joint patrol and law enforcement inspection in the shared border at Lao Cai - Hakou international border gate area.
Accordingly, both sides exchanged liaison officers and established night patrol teams, patrolling from Border Markers No.87 to No.167.

During the patrol, the Chinese side handed over and returned to Vietnam eight Vietnamese citizens who stayed illegally in China. These citizens are all women from Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Son La and Dien Bien provinces.
At the end of the patrol, both sides summarized the operation and updated each other on the recent situations in the shared border. They also agreed on future cooperation orientations, including sharing information via letters and hotlines; effectively handling emerging issues in crime prevention and border management; promptly detect and prevent criminal activities, particularly illegal entry and exit, human trafficking, smuggling, and others; as well as join hands to maintain political security, social order and safety in the shared border.
