A farewell ceremony held for the Vietnamese delegation

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, while the Lao delegation was headed by General Chansamone Chanyalath, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense.

The success of the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange continued to affirm the effectiveness of this initiative in promoting substantive cooperation between the border protection forces of the two countries, enhancing economic development, facilitating people-to-people exchange, and raising awareness of border protection among local authorities and residents in border areas, contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation, and development and strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation in an intensive and effective manner.

This program further conveyed a message of solidarity and mutual support, strengthened political trust, and laid a solid foundation for the comprehensive and sustainable development of Vietnam-Laos relations.

The two nations have together built a great friendship and special solidarity that is “deeper than Hong Ha (the Red River) and Cuu Long (the Mekong River),” “stronger than mountains and rivers.”

The success of the 2nd Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange makes us more proud of the two countries' profound, noble, enduring, impartial, faithful relationship which is rare in the history of international relations. The bond was directly established by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong, and has been meticulously cultivated by generations of troops and people of both nations.
