PANO – A ceremony was held on October 1 at the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Defense (MND)’s headquarters to hand over medical supplies to the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the Hungarian Ministry of Defense and the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Korea to help them fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Lieutenant General Vu Chien Thang, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, the medical supplies included 3-layer antibacterial face masks, hand sanitizer, antibacterial AKD08 Nano masks, and face shields. These high quality medical supplies were produced by the MND’s affiliated units.
Amid the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic globally, the support promotes friendship and cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and defense forces of other countries. It also demonstrated Vietnam’s responsibility to the community in dealing with global issues, especially when Vietnam is undertaking the roles of the ASEAN Chair 2020 and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.
