Vietnam-China joint fishery patrol concludes successfully
PANO - A contingent from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command and its Chinese counterpart successfully conducted the three-day Vietnam-China joint fishery patrol in the shared fishing grounds in the Gulf of Tonkin.

The Vietnamese mission was led by Senior Colonel Tran Van Tho, Deputy Commander and Head of the Staff Department of the Coast Guard Region 1, while the Chinese mission was headed by Zhou Yingrong, Deputy Head of Nanhai Branch.
Concluding on November 3, the patrol, the second of its kind this year, met the set targets. The joint forces patrolled 11 agreed locations in the joint fishing ground in the Gulf of Tonkin and closely coordinated in a search and rescue exercise with good results.

Reviewing the joint patrol by phone, the two sides agreed on the success of this patrol which was carried out in a friendly and close spirit. Via the patrol, the two sides learnt more about each other while boosting mutual understanding, trust and intensive cooperation between their law enforcement agencies.
They wished that on the basis of the good cooperation outcomes in the past, the two sides would promote solidarity, close coordination in and bring into play their responsibilities for supervising the enforcement of the agreement on fishery cooperation, maintaining security, order and safety in the shared fishing ground and ensuring these waters in the Gulf of Tonkin signify peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the shared fishing ground.
