Coast guards practice for joint fishery patrol in Gulf of Tonkin
PANO - The Vietnam-China joint fishery patrol in the shared fishing grounds in the Gulf of Tonkin is one of the annual activities of the two coast guard forces.
It is also an important defense external mission in order to contribute to building the sea of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
Accordingly, the second joint patrol of this year will last from October 31 to November 3.
In order to make the joint patrol a success, members of the Coast Guard Region 1 under the Vietnam Coast Guard, who are charged with this task, held a rehearsal right before joining the joint patrol with their Chinese counterparts.
Here are some images of their training session:
Coast guards moving to assigned positions after receiving orders
Practicing saluting on board
Ship’s captain observing all surrounding activities...
...and recording them on sea charts
According to a simulated situation, a blaze has broken out onboard ship numbered 6002. Ships numbered 8003 and 8004 are approaching the troubled ship for rescue mission
A soldier signaling for coordination forces in response to the situation
Rescue ships promptly using water cannons for the mission
Thanks to fine coordination, it takes them a short time to extinguish the blaze
