The Vietnamese delegation is in China on the ongoing official visit to historical relic sites related to the Vietnamese Revolution at Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangdong province.

Lt. Gen. Jia Jiancheng highly appreciated the Vietnamese delegation’s visit, saying that paying gratitude to former revolutionaries who used to conduct revolutionary activities in China is to remember the Vietnam-China friendship and the friendship between leaders and people of the two countries, which is a strong foundation of the bilateral friendship.

In a friendly atmosphere, the two sides agreed to continue to boost understanding, consolidate political trust and deepen the fruitful traditional friendship between the two countries and militaries.

He confirmed that Vietnam always considers developing the friendship and cooperative ties with China an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in its foreign policy. The Party, government, and people of Vietnam always treasure and bear in mind the wholehearted assistance from their Chinese counterparts during the struggles for national independence in the past and the socialism building and national development at present, he said.

The Vietnamese general spoke highly of the positive developments in the two parties and states’ relationships thanks to both sides’ great efforts, especially after visits by their Party General Secretaries and the latest official visit to Vietnam by Chinese Premier Li Qiang. He emphasized the two countries’ agreement on elevating their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future that carries strategic significance in the direction of the “six major goals.”

Gen. Chien expressed his delight at the close coordination between the Southern Theater Command and Vietnamese naval and border guard forces, helping boost political trust and serving as a motivation for the two militaries to carry out cooperation contents in a practical and effective manner.

He said that many activities will be implemented in the time ahead to realize contents reached by leaders of the Vietnamese and Chinese Central Military Commissions, including expanding and deepening such cooperation fields as training, maritime exchange, exchange on Party and political work, and young officers exchange.

Given that the two parties and states are facing both new opportunities and challenges in national innovation, reform, opening and development, Gen. Chien said that more than ever, both sides need a peaceful and stable environment to serve the strategic development goals of each country. Thus, with political trust, the two sides will further their cooperation, deepen the two militaries’ ties in accordance with the common perception of the senior leaders of the two parties and countries in the direction of more substantial cooperation in defense and security.

Earlier the same day, also in Guangzhou city, the Vietnamese delegation paid tribute to martyr Pham Hong Thai at his tomb, visited Huanghuagang Mausoleum. The delegation also visited the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League relic site which was closely associated with the revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh from 1924-1927.
