Expressing his delight at the visit to China, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien thanked the Chinese side for the warm welcome, underlining that this was an important activity within the series of activities in celebration of the 80th foundation anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army. The activity was also an opportunity for the leaders of the two militaries to enhance contact, consolidate political trust, and deepen their understanding of the good friendship between the two countries and the two militaries.

Receiving the Vietnamese delegation at China’s Youyi Guan border gate was Major General Zhang Baoqun, Deputy Director of the Office for International Military Cooperation of the Central Military Commission of China.

The Vietnamese delegation then visited the Guangxi Exit-Entry Frontier Inspection General Station. Its chief Guo Qingzhu introduced the Vietnamese delegation to the modern operating model of the station with the application of many smart devices, and AI applications, contributing to shortening customs clearance time and improving customs clearance efficiency. It is considered one of the smartest stations in the border gate pairs between China and ASEAN countries.

Gen. Chien was delighted at the close coordination between the Southern Theater Command, Guangxi Military Region and Vietnam’s border guard force over the past time, making contribution to strengthening political trust, which is the driving force for the two militaries to implement practical and effective cooperation contents.

The Vietnamese deputy defense minister hoped that in the time come, both sides will intensify cooperation and further deepen the relations between the two militaries in accordance with the common perception of the senior leaders of the two Parties, countries, and militaries, including promoting cooperation, exchange and experience sharing between Military Regions 1,2,3 and the Vietnam Border Guard Command with the National Defense Mobilization Department of the Central Military Commission of China, particularly Guangxi Military Region.

In the first day of the visit, the delegation toured historical relic sites attached to the Vietnamese revolution at Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, including Ho Chi Minh Exhibition Hall and Longzhou Uprising Memorial Hall (Longzhou district, Chongzuo city); and met with leaders of Guangxi Military Region, among others.

In the following days, the delegation will visit Nan Xishan Hospital established in 1968; Yucai School and Guangxi Normal University; the Southern War Zone Joint Staff Department. They will pay tribute at the tomb of martyr Pham Hong Thai, Huanghuagang Mausoleum; and visit the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League relic site and Guangdong Revolutionary History Museum, to name but a few.
