An overview of the meeting

The meeting was conducted in a positive and mutually understanding atmosphere. Both sides reviewed and evaluated border management and protection efforts in 2024 and discussed plans for further cooperation.

In the time to come, both sides agreed to strictly implement the regulations outlined in the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border, as signed by the two Governments. They will also follow the minutes of meetings of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee, the minutes of the 24th talks between the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command and the Mengzi Border Guard Command, and other bilateral agreements. These efforts aim to contribute to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and prosperous Vietnam-China border.

Both parties will continue to enhance cooperation in disseminating information and educating local residents on border laws, gradually raising awareness of legal compliance among the border population. For cases of violations, the two sides agreed to prioritize education and persuasion, refraining from the use of force or actions that threaten the life, well-being, or property of violators. The two sides will also strengthen coordination in addressing border issues.
