During the three-month long course, which is held as part of the cooperation plan in 2024 between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Lao Ministry of Defense, 20 officers of the Lao People’s Army will be provided with insights into the development trends in modern television in the digital media era, skills and experience in interviewing, reporting from scenes, modern television production steps, news and article writing and editing, and post-production process, among others. The training also covers filming, editing, and writing skills, as well as radio program production techniques.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Military Broadcasting Center Senior Colonel Phan Anh Viet said that since trainees are editors, broadcasters, and technicians in the field of radio and television, the training program is designed to ensure that participants acquire as much knowledge and experience as possible.

The same day, the Military Advisory Youth Board kicked off a refresher course on military youth work in 2024 for Lao officers, during which the agency’s head Sr. Col. Nguyen Viet Nang emphasized that as a core and direct force in carrying out the military’s political missions, young officers and youths of the two militaries have inherited and promoted the fine traditions of their nations and militaries to excellently fulfill their duties. At the same time, with their affection and sense of responsibility, the young officers and youth of both countries have actively engaged in various practical and effective activities, contributing to the consolidation and development of the special friendship between the two militaries.

According to Col. Nang, the course’s contents well combine theory, practice, and field activities. Trainees will learn about some typical models and activities of the Vietnamese military youths, visit historical and cultural sites, and other places of interest. These activities aim to enhance the participants' professional skills and experience in organizing military youth work and help them have a deeper understanding of the history of Vietnam, its traditions, culture, people, and the Vietnam People's Army.
