Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy delivers a speech at the event.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Director of the Military University of Culture and Arts, noted that since 2019, the university has not yet organized refresher courses for artists of the Military Art Troupe of the Laos People’s Army due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the ministries of national defense of the two countries agreed to conduct the course, showing their trust in the university. Therefore, the university has made thorough preparation to accomplish the set goals and complete the programs successfully.

During the three-month course, 22 officials, artists, and staff from the Military Art Troupe of the Laos People Army will be equipped with the skills of composing, performing, performance direction, sound and stage lighting techniques, among others. Especially, this year, trainees will study several new majors, namely stage and musical director, content design and usage of LED screens on the stage.
