At the meeting, the Vietnamese head delegate expressed deep condolences over the passing of former President of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and former State President of Laos, General Khamtay Siphandone.

Later, he reported on outstanding results of the Military Region 4’s armed forces in recent times. He expressed thanks to the Lao government, directly the Prime Minister, for creating favorable conditions for Military Region 4, directly the Economic Cooperation Corporation, to conduct projects in the country to help local people in impoverished border areas of Xaisomboun, Xiangkhouang, Bolikhamsai and Houaphan provinces.

The Vietnamese general hoped for the Lao PM’s continued support for Military Region 4 and the corporation to effectively carry out their projects and the study to build three new village clusters in Khammouane, Bolikhamsai and Attapeu provinces. He also hoped for the Lao leader’s direction over the Lao government’s special working committee and localities to coordinate and create conditions for Vietnamese search and collection teams to perform their tasks of searching and repatriating remains of fallen Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors in Laos.

The Lao PM highly appreciated the cooperation and assistance from Military Region 4 and the corporation through their economic projects in Laos, helping locals develop economy and stabilize their lives.

He asked Military Region 4’s units taking on duties in Laos to observe the host’s laws, closely follow their tasks, and boost partnership with local agencies to improve quality of projects and multiplied successful models.

He wished the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states and militaries further development and sustainability.

On the occasion of Bunpimay 2025, from April 9-11, a delegation from the Hue city Border Guard Command, led by its second-in-command Sr. Col. Ton That Nguyen Dat, visited and extended greetings to the military commands and public security forces of Sekong and Salavan provinces of Laos.

During the visits, Col.
