MND’s delegation congratulates Laos on its military’s foundation day

On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnamese MND, General Chien extended his warmest congratulations to the Ambassador, the Defense Attaché, and all officers and staff of the Lao Embassy and the Lao Defense Attaché Office in Vietnam on the occasion of 76th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army.

The Vietnamese deputy defense minister expressed his delight at the strong development of Laos over the past 76 years. He said that over the past nearly eight decades, under the sound leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao People’s Army has, together with the people of all ethnic groups in the country, overcome countless difficulties and challenges, fought, and continuously built and developed its forces, significantly contributing to Laos’ national construction and defense, to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. 

General Chien emphasized that over the past time, the bilateral defense cooperation has continued to be promoted and effectively implemented in various areas, making it one of the key pillars in the Vietnam-Laos relationship.

The Vietnamese defense leader took the occasion to thank the Lao Ministry of Defense for participating in and contributing effectively to the overall success of the activities marking the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day, and the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024. He also expressed his deep gratitude to the Ambassador, the Defense Attaché, and all the officers and staff of the Lao Embassy and the Lao Defense Attaché Office in Vietnam for acting as a bridge for cooperation between the two countries in general and the two militaries in particular.

For his part, Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh thanked the Vietnamese delegation for their visit and congratulations on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Lao People’s Army. The Lao diplomat expressed deep gratitude to the Vietnam People’s Army for its support to Laos and congratulated the Vietnam People’s Army on its achievements. He highly appreciated the close cooperation between the two defense ministries, which is always highly valued by the senior leadership of both countries.
