Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief Major General Doan Xuan Bo; Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai, and representatives of agencies and units of the People's Army Newspaper of Vietnam welcomed the delegation.

At the event, Sr. Col. Nguyen Hong Hai expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation and stressed that this field trip would help further strengthen the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. Col. Hai wished the delegation to acquire valuable knowledge, experience, lasting impressions and fond memories from their training program in Vietnam.

For his part, the head of the Lao delegation, Lt. Col. Aphai Aphaiyavong, expressed his honor to visit and work with the People’s Army Newspaper of Vietnam and briefly outlined the history, development, and organizational structure of the Lao People’s Army Newspaper.

Lt. Col. Aphai Aphaiyavong noted that over 60 years of development, the People’s Army Newspaper of Laos has evolved from a daily newspaper into a modern media organization, with the online edition available in two languages: Lao and English. Notably, the Vietnamese-language edition is planned to be launched in the near future.

Col. Aphai thanked the host for creating favorable conditions for the delegation to experience and discuss professional media and journalism activities. He emphasized that the visit contributed to reinforcing solidarity and enhancing sharing between the military press of the two countries, serving as a catalyst for proposals to both Ministries of National Defense and General Departments of Political Affairs on measures to promote cooperation in media and journalism in the coming years.

The head of the Lao delegation suggested the newspapers enhance coordination in training reporters and editors, sharing information and exchanging expertise to fulfill their communications missions, thereby fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, keeping them evergreen and sustainable.
