Receiving the delegation on behalf of the PAN’s leadership were Deputy Editor-in-Chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai, along with members of the Party Committee, the Editorial Board, and representatives from several departments and units.

At the meeting, Col. Hai expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Lao delegation. He wished the delegates successful training sessions, noting that their program would help them gain valuable knowledge and practical experience, as well as leave them with positive impressions and memorable moments during their working trip to Vietnam.

The PAN’s Deputy Editor-in-Chief affirmed that the visit contributed to strengthening the solidarity and close bond between Vietnam and Laos, a relationship that has been built and nurtured over many years.

The visit took place as Laos had just celebrated the 50th anniversary of the National Day and was preparing for the 105th birthday of President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13, 1920 - 2025). During the working session, the delegation watched a video introducing the 75-year development history and milestones of the PAN.

As the official press agency of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the voice of the Vietnamese armed forces and people, the PAN is among the most prestigious political newspapers within Vietnam’s revolutionary press system. It fulfills the mission of disseminating information on the country’s two strategic tasks of national construction and defense of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The PAN receives strong attention and trust from the Party, the State, and the military; maintains a solid reputation and widespread influence across the military and society; and has made significant contributions to the nation’s struggles for liberation, national defense, and the ongoing cause of national development.

Implementing the open foreign policy of the Party and State of Vietnam, the PAN devotes considerable space to  covering the world situation, especially Laos, its people, and outstanding achievements. The newspaper also actively promotes the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the session, Comrade Peng Latkhamphoumy expressed his sincere gratitude to the PAN for the warm welcome and support extended to the Lao delegation in their professional exchange and study. He affirmed that this visit helped further consolidate solidarity, enhance professional sharing between the press agencies of both countries, and create an important foundation for proposing to the two countries’ leadership new solutions to strengthening future cooperation in journalism.

“We are very impressed with the PAN’s model, its operating procedures, and its coordination mechanisms in producing news and articles. These are valuable experience that Lao press agencies can draw upon as we gradually advance digital transformation and improve the quality of communications and public service,” Comrade Peng Latkhamphoumy shared.

He expressed hope that, in the time to come, the PAN and Lao press and media agencies would continue deepening cooperation in training, capacity building, information sharing, and professional exchanges, thereby better fulfilling their communication missions and contributing to nurturing the everlasting Vietnam - Laos great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.
