Maj. Gen. Doan Xuan Bo speaks at the working session. |
At the event, PAN’s leader introduced key milestones in the newspaper’s history, more than 75 years of establishment, development, and growth closely tied to the nation’s struggle for liberation, as well as the subsequent cause of national construction and defense, and to the building, combat, and development of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnamese revolutionary press.
He stated that in the context of rapid social and technological changes, the PAN is accelerating innovation to meet mission requirements. The Government has designated the PAN as one of Vietnam’s core, multi-platform press and media agencies, playing a guiding role in shaping public opinion nationwide. Today, the PAN stands as one of Vietnam’s leading political newspapers, tasked with regularly and comprehensively disseminating information about the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws.

An overview of the working session |
In the modern media landscape, the PAN continues to transform and pro-actively reach audiences through three key pillars, namely printed newspaper, online newspaper, and social media platforms. Notably, the PAN’s online edition, featuring Vietnamese-language content, a Video-Audio section, and five foreign-language versions (English, Chinese, Lao, Khmer, and Russian), is growing strongly. In the near future, the PAN will propose to the General Department of Political Affairs the development of a Spanish-language edition, given that Spanish is the world’s second most widely spoken language, used in more than 20 countries, including Cuba. General Bo shared that his working trip to Cuba three months earlier had left profound impressions of the heroic and resilient Cuban people.
For his part, President of Prensa Latina Jorge Legañoa Alonso expressed his delight at meeting Maj. Gen. Doan Xuan Bo again, and he highly valued the outcomes of the working session in Havana between the PAN’s delegation and Prensa Latina staff during the PAN’s visit to Cuba last September.
