Based on the rotational mechanism for organizing joint patrols, both sides have established a joint patrol command, with each forming nine land patrol teams. They have also deployed two liaison groups comprising four officers (two from each side) to jointly patrol and manage the border area from marker No.87 to marker No.167.

Before the patrol, the two commands met at the demarcation line at the Lao Cai International Border Gate to exchange updates on the security situation in the border area, share information, and agree on coordination methods to address potential contingencies. They also arranged for liaison officers to participate in each other’s patrol formations.

During the patrol, both sides strictly adhered to the contents of their bilateral cooperation agreements, upholding the principle of respecting each country’s territorial sovereignty. Alongside the patrols, the two forces exchanged views on violations of border regulations in recent times, particularly illegal crossings, trade fraud, and drug trafficking.

The patrol teams also conducted public outreach, distributing leaflets to about 1,000 border residents to raise awareness of border laws and encourage strict compliance, while urging people not to aid or abet illegal activities.

This joint patrol not only contributed to safeguarding security and order in the border area, but also further strengthened cooperation and friendship between the two countries’ law enforcement forces. It laid a solid foundation for protecting national sovereignty and border security, while fostering trust and goodwill between the agencies on both sides.
