Major General Hoang Huu Chien, Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard, stated that the 10th edition features vibrant, practical activities across the shared border. Previous visits to border posts, reviews of twinned residential clusters, and free medical check-ups have consistently benefited both residents and border forces.

This year, 20 Chinese military doctors joined Vietnamese peers to provide medical care for local people, while Chinese students performed artistic shows. This coordination strengthens military-civilian bonds and solidarity between the two military medical forces.

Major General Hoang Huu Chien highlighted the establishment of twinning relationships, regular visits, and cultural or sporting exchanges. These efforts enhance cooperation and solidarity, contributing to a border of peace, friendship, stability, and development.

Providing medical care along the Vietnam - China border for three consecutive years, Senior Captain, Doctor Hoang Thi Thuy from the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine observed a strong spirit of cooperation and closeness between the two peoples. Participating in the 2024–2026 editions, she realized that a doctor’s work extends far beyond the hospital, bringing practical value wherever people are in need. Thuy believes these activities improve healthcare access while strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and trust between the two nations.

For 51-year-old Vi Tien Thang from Dong Thang village, Hoanh Mo commune, Quang Ninh province, the free health checkups and medicine distribution are vital. Suffering from chronic stomach pain that impacts his daily life, Thang has been unable to afford regular check-ups at higher-level facilities. For him and other residents in difficult circumstances, this program offers a crucial opportunity for specialized care.

Thang said that it was the first time he was directly examined by foreign doctors. Both Vietnamese and Chinese doctors carefully asked about his condition and daily habits, then clearly explained the causes and provided specific treatment guidance and careful instructions on diet and daily routines, helping him better understand his health status.

“We sincerely thank the Vietnamese and Chinese doctors and hope that more meaningful programs like this will be organized in the future so that people can access better-quality healthcare services,” Thang said.
