Leading the Vietnamese patrol force was Second-in-Command Officer and Chief of Staff of the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command Sr. Col. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, while the Chinese patrol force was led by Deputy head of Honghe border management unit First-Class Police Superintendent Nie Fatuan.
The two sides established a joint patrol command in accordance with the operational plan. Each side formed four ground patrol teams and exchanged two liaison officer groups, comprising four officers, to conduct joint patrols along the border section from border marker No.17 to border marker No.71 on the Viet Nam-China land border area.

On the same day, the leaders of the joint patrol command and the patrol teams agreed on the joint patrol plan and briefed each other on recent border management developments.
The two sides implemented joint patrol activities in accordance with the principle of "border-to-border, point-to-point, and line-to-line" across two time periods, totaling four hours.
Following the operation, the joint patrol command reviewed and evaluated the execution of the patrol while exchanging information on recent developments along the border.
Both sides agreed that the joint border patrol was a complete success, achieving its intended goals and efficiency. They also agreed to maintain regular information exchanges regarding border affairs through correspondence and hotlines; further strengthen border patrol and control, and combat crimes such as illegal entry and exit, human trafficking, and smuggling, thereby jointly maintaining security, order, and stability in the border area.

Furthermore, both sides agreed to enhance information dissemination and education on border legal policies to raise law-abiding awareness and border protection consciousness among border people on both sides, aiming to prevent and minimize cross-border crimes.
