Indonesian naval frigate docks at Ho Chi Minh City Port
PANO – On August 19, frigate KRI Bung Tomo-357 of the Indonesian Navy, captained by Commander Dedi Gunawan Widyatmoko, docked at Nha Rong wharf in Ho Chi Minh City, starting a courtesy visit to Vietnam.
Captain Nguyen The Hung, Chief of Staff of Brigade 171 under Naval Region 2 and head of the Vietnamese naval delegation, hosted the reception for the Indonesian delegation.
The visit will contribute to strengthening cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the militaries of Vietnam and Indonesia in general, the two navies in particular.
Within the framework of the visit, KRI Bung Tomo crew-members will pay a courtesy visit on the leadership of Naval Region 2, visit scenic spots in Ho Chi Minh City; participate in sports and culinary exchanges with Vietnamese young officers. Before leaving on August 23, the frigate will coordinate with the Vietnamese Navy to conduct a joint training exercise at sea.
The KRI Bung Tomo has a displacement of 2,300 tons, a length of 95 meters, a width of 12.8 meters, a draft of 5.2 meters, and a maximum speed of 30 knots (56 km/h).
