Indian patrol vessel docks in Da Nang city
PANO – Patrol vessel ICGS VIJIT of the Indian Coast Guard, headed by Captain T. Ashish, docked at Tien Sa port, starting its four-day visit to the Central city of Da Nang from April 1 to 4, 2019.
The ship, with 140 crewmembers on board, was welcomed by representatives of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command, Military Region 5 Command, Da Nang city’s Military and Border Guard Commands, Da Nang city's Department of External Affairs, and Indian Embassy in Vietnam.
During their stay, the Indian coast guard officers and crewmen will pay courtesy visits to the Military Region 5 Command, Da Nang People’s Committee, and Coast Guard Region 2 Command; and joined a table-top exercise and friendly sport matches at the headquarters of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command.

Besides, the Vietnamese and Indian Coast Guard forces will take part in a search and rescue drill at sea.
The visit of the Indian ship aims to promote the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership in general and strengthen cooperation between the two coast guard forces in particular.
