Vietnam and India promotes naval cooperation
PANO - A Vietnamese naval delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy, led by Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, Commander of the Vietnam People's Navy, visited and worked in India from December 4 to 8, at the invitation of Admiral Sunil Lanba, Indian Chairman of Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of the Naval Staff.
Accordingly, Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam and Admiral Sunil Lanba reviewed cooperation activities between the two navies over the past years and set up cooperation in the fields of personnel training, technical maintenance, and proposed other contents of bilateral naval cooperation in the coming time.

Earlier, the Vietnamese naval delegation laid wreaths at the India Gate War Memorial to pay tribute to Indian heroic martyrs.
During the visit, Vice Admiral Nam and the delegation also visited naval units, submarines and warships of the Indian Navy in Mumbai city, Maharashtra state.
The visit was part of the activities to promote bilateral cooperation between the two navies, contributing to strengthening defense cooperation on the basis of the signed documents, including "Joint Vision on Vietnam-India Defense Cooperation for the 2015-2020 period".
