Frigate 015-Tran Hung Dao departs for visits to China, Japan, RoK
PANO - On the morning of November 22, frigate 015-Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162, Naval Region 4 Command with a working delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy, led by Senior Captain Nguyen Vinh Nam, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, aboard departed from Cam Ranh Military Port of Khanh Hoa province for goodwill visits to China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Commander of the Naval Region 4 Command Rear Admiral Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of Naval Region 4 Captain Bui Xuan Binh, and officers and sailors of Brigade 162 saw the delegation off at the port.

As scheduled, the Vietnamese delegation and the crew of frigate 015-Tran Hung Dao will pay courtesy calls on the authorities of Qingdao city of China’s Shandong province, conduct exchanges, and engage in a joint maritime exercise with the Chinese Navy.
In Kure, Japan, the Vietnamese delegation will pay courtesy calls on local authorities and conduct joint training with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, focusing on formation maneuvering and communication procedures.
In the RoK’s Busan, the Vietnamese delegation will pay courtesy calls on local authorities and participate in several exchange activities with the RoK Navy.

This mission is an important activity within the Vietnam People’s Navy’s defense diplomacy plan for 2025, contributing to strengthening relations, mutual understanding, trust, and cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Navy and the navies of China, Japan, and the RoK.
With a total voyage of more than 5,000 nautical miles, the trip also provides an opportunity for long-range sea training, improving command and organizational capabilities, mastering weapon and equipment, and handling real maritime situations, thereby affirming the operational capacity of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
