Foreign defense attachés work with MR5 Command
PANO - A delegation of foreign defense attachés, led by Colonel Michael Willem Jansen, Australian Defense Attaché to Vietnam, visited and worked with the Military Region 5 (MR5) Command on June 10.

Maj. Gen. Hua Van Tuong, Deputy Commander of MR5, received the delegation.
During the reception, Maj. Gen. Tuong introduced the functions, responsibilities, organizational structure, and notable achievements of the MR5 armed forces in fulfilling military and defense tasks in tandem with socio-economic development in the Central and Central Highlands regions. He expressed hope that the visit would enable the foreign defense attachés to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s landscape and people, particularly the forces under MR5.
Col. Michael Willem Jansen thanked the host for the warm welcome, expressed admiration for MR5’s accomplishments, and affirmed his belief that the visit would help strengthen mutual understanding, build trust, and promote defense cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and the militaries of other countries, towards the common goals of peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
